Great Neighbors Make Kissing Tree Shine

One thing we hear again and again is that Kissing Tree is all about the people and the friendships our residents make. We’ve really focused on creating a strong community with lots of ways for people to interact and engage with one another, and the first step is helping everyone get to know each other. Porch Portraits have been a great way to let our residents introduce themselves and show off their beautiful homes during these weird times when normal socializing is kind of limited. As usual, special thanks to Tyler, of The Mill Photography Studio, for bringing his telephoto lens and making everyone look so good.

Joan & Jeremiah Garcia

The Garcias wanted a secure, 55+ community that offered a great quality of life and put them closer to high-quality health care, and Kissing Tree checked all the boxes. Since moving in at the end of 2020, they’ve enjoyed meeting people with similar interests and staying busy with golf, music, dancing, and going to Kissing Tree’s amazing fitness facility. Their new home is perfect for entertaining and socializing, with an open kitchen, living, and dining area that lets everyone be together. Look for them around the neighborhood, walking Shady, a poodle/schnauzer mix, and Jazzy, a miniature pincher.

“It’s a very welcoming community that has activities for everyone.”

Martha & John Love (with Dreyfus)

When we asked the Loves why they chose Kissing Tree, they told us it was for the wonderful neighbors and the amenities. Look for Martha and John on the pickleball court, or out on their back porch enjoying the shade and the fire pit. You’ll often find Dreyfus, their darling papillion, close by!

“Kissing Tree is not just about a home. It’s about neighbors caring for one another, community, and living active together.”

Margaret & Larry Wheeler

When the Whelers were looking to escape Gulf Coast hurricanes, Kissing Tree seemed like a safe haven to make their next home. The golf course, pools, and amenities didn’t hurt, either! When they’re not on the golf course, this couple stays busy with volunteer work, traveling, building websites, and reading.

“It is a very friendly place with many fun activities.”

Karen Stewart, with Lynzy Lab & Neil Patrick Stewart (and Puzzle & Gravy)

Karen’s son Neil and daughter-in-law Lynzy teach acting and dance, respectively, Texas State, so when she was looking to relocate closer to them, Kissing Tree seemed like the perfect choice. Now, she loves spending time with neighbors at the pool and enjoying time with her grand-dogs, Puzzle and Gravy. When we asked her about her favorite room in her new home, Karen couldn’t decide! “Gosh, that’s really hard to say! There’s the right sunny kitchen, the large great room with view to both porches, the dining room for puzzles and games, and the sewing nook. I love them all!”

“It’s a happy place. Away from the hustle and bustle of my former homes in LA and Philadelphia, but still full of activities and opportunities.”

Naomi Pastrano

Naomi moved to Kissing Tree to be closer to family, and she’s already enjoying spotting deer out of her bright and airy living room windows. She liked Kissing Tree because it was a gated community – plus all the amenities! While she’s only been at Kissing for a few months, she’s looking forward to enjoying the pools once she settles in.

“I like the community and security. You have the chance to become very involved with neighbors.”

Ken & Renée Lipinski

The Lipinskis told us that they moved here to be part of the Kissing Tree family, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome them! Ken and Renée have lived here for six months, and they’ve enjoyed meeting neighbors and spending time at The Mix. Their favorite room in their new home is the kitchen.

“It’s a great community!”

Linda New

You might already know Linda from our blog post about her beautiful new Villa! She recently moved here from Austin, and she has been loving the KT lifestyle. She already has a new bike, and she’s thinking she might see a dog in her future now that she’s in a great community.

“It’s the best of all worlds. Active people living an active lifestyle, close to Austin/San Antonio and everything in between. It’s like Disney World for adults!”

Alison McNutt

Alison moved to Kissing Tree from Michigan three years ago to be closer to her daughter and family. It was especially nice at the holidays, when they could be together and make their family’s favorite red-and-green casserole for Christmas Day. Look for Alison by the pool—if you can’t find her, she’s probably tucked in her cozy bedroom doing crafts or reading.

“There’s lots of friendly people!”

Michael Herrin & Page Anderson (with Louie, Keats & Autry)

Michael moved to Kissing Tree to live with her sister, Page, and to downsize while escaping the cold Michigan winters. She’s loved meeting new neighbors, and she stays busy walking, gardening, woodworking, and reading. Michael and Page also show their dogs, Louie (a Brussels Griffon) and Keats and Autry (Belgian Tervurens) in conformation, agility, and obedience competitions.

“It’s a great community in a beautiful setting where you can become involved with the most interesting and involved residents. Everyone is FAMILY.”

Nancy & Bill Keske (with Guinness)

The Keskes love bocce ball. And being out of the snow for the winter! Nancy and Bill moved to Kissing Tree 1.5 years ago to be closer to family, and they haven’t looked back. They love the social activities, as well as biking, hiking, cooking, and golf. Their favorite room is the great room/kitchen, where they love to gather with friends, family, and their sweet English Springer Spaniel, Guinness.

“Come and check it out, you won’t be disappointed!”

Jo & Larry Honeycutt

The Honeycutts moved to Kissing Tree three years ago to be closer to necessities in an active-adult community outside of a large metropolitan city. And also for the pickleball! Jo had long wanted a library, and the couple was thrilled to add one to their home so they can be surrounded by the books they love. When they’re not reading, they’re often spending time in the yard tending to their beautiful flower garden.

“It’s a place where you know your neighbors and there’s always something to do!”

Max & Debra Snapp

The Snapps have only been at Kissing Tree for a few months, and they’re looking forward to golf, concerts, hiking, cooking, and day trips. When we asked them what they love best about their new home, they said it was hard to say! “The bedroom is great for sleeping! The kitchen is great for cooking! We enjoy watching the big TV in the living room. And we love our back patio for entertaining!”

“Come – it is a great community and many welcoming people!”

Rick & Mashelle Zeolla (with Lily & Bluebell)

The Zeollas have lived in Kissing Tree for 1.5 years, and they chose the community for the amenities and the home design. The love traveling and playing pickleball.

“Our great room allows gatherings with ease.”

If you’re ready to be our neighbor, check out available homes or come by for a tour! We’d love to tell you more about why we love it here at Kissing Tree.
