Get the KTXperience

Making a move is a big decision, and it can be hard to know if you’re making the right choice. For more than a hundred prospective new neighbors, KTX was the ultimate try-before-you-buy Kissing Tree experience. The weekend adventure was a great chance to jump into the KT lifestyle with two full days of learning and play packed with tours, activities, parties, panel discussions, games, get-togethers, and more.

Day of Learning

The festivities kicked off on Friday morning with coffee and pastries in the Welcome Center, followed by a full agenda for the Day of Learning. Many attendees chose to start the day with a KTXcursion shuttle tour to get the lay of the land and see Kissing Tree’s newest sections, Garner and Sabine.

Lively panel discussions offered information on a variety of topics, including interior design trends and tips, secrets for selling your home, home financing tools, HOA life, resident insights, and a hilarious introduction to Kissing Tree’s activities from Kevin and Austin on the KT Lifestyle team. The day closed out with an open-house showcase with table displays from many popular KT groups and clubs, as well as a happy hour performance in the Biergarten with live music from KT’s favorite dueling pianos.

KTX attendee (and future KT resident) Jana L. and her husband had just signed a contract to build a home in Kissing Tree’s new Garner neighborhood. “We loved it! We’d visited before, but to be in the middle of it all was so great,” Jana said. “We’ve heard so much that the people are all that matters, but you could see it in action. We met the people who are going to have the house 5 houses down from us! Everyone fit in so well together, and we already told them we’ll check on their house while it’s being built because they live far away!”

Day of Play

Attendees returned to Kissing Tree on Saturday for the Day of Play. Guests who had only met the day before were already greeting each other like old friends and sitting together for the coffee and breakfast tacos. Attendees had their choice of a number of Kissing Tree’s popular activities around The Mix, including golf, pickleball, bocce ball, darts, yoga, art classes, and even a wine tasting with personal charcuterie cups. Horseshoes, putt-putt, and ping-pong were also available all day for open play, with friendly resident experts providing assistance for anyone who wanted a lesson.

“My husband was thrilled — he hasn’t been on a golf course in 5 years, and he was paying for it the next day!” Jana said. “I went to watch pickleball and talk to people — it was easy to participate at whatever level you wanted to. And the bocce ball was so fun! We ended up in the same group with some friends we’d met at lunch — it was really enjoyable!”

A Big Texas Bash

The weekend wrapped up with Saturday night’s KTXtravaganza: A Big Texas Bash, held at the Biergarten and Independence Hall. Guests were encouraged to wear hats and boots for this Texas-sized party featuring a delicious dinner of brisket and turkey. After dinner, everyone hit the dance floor for some two-stepping good times to the music of popular local band Three-Chord Rodeo.

The excitement of the weekend continues on, with attendees reaching out to new friends and planning their next steps. “We really didn’t know what to expect when we decided to attend,” attendee Patti L. said. “We were pleasantly surprised with how well Brookfield organized the event. The day of learning on Friday was filled with information and interesting sessions. Saturday was great fun experiencing a number of activities available at KTX, especially pickleball. The highlight of the weekend was meeting some great people and starting friendships that we hope to continue in the not-too-distant future when we make Kissing Tree our home.” Aww, thanks, Patti! We can’t wait to see y’all back again really soon!
