Date Night in San Marcos
San Marcos is the perfect place to head out on the town with your honey or let loose on a much-needed girls night. Home to a variety of restaurants, honky-tonk dancehalls and a nationally-renowned Main Street, there’s no shortage of fun options right in your backyard. Who needs the big city when you have small town charm?
Kissing Alley – Kissing Alley was named one of the most romantic main streets in the country. The picturesque space holds intimate concerts and weddings against a beautiful backdrop. Take a romantic stroll with your sweetie or grab your girls for a photo opp after you share a glass of wine (or two)…we’re not judging.
Main Street – No matter what day of the week you head downtown, there’s bound to be some sort of event happening in the streets…more than 25 to be exact. Enjoy everything from live music to a local farmers’ market. You can find a full schedule here.
Three Dudes Winery – We may be just a few miles down the road from the Texas Wine Country, but we have our very own winery right here in San Marcos. Head to Three Dudes on a Friday afternoon for some serious happy hour specials and local live music. You won’t be disappointed.
Root Cellar – Bakery, brewery and restaurant…is this heaven on earth? Pretty dang close if you ask us. Whether you prefer a coffee day date on the patio or sampling Texas brews in the historic Donaldson building, Root Cellar is sure to please every palate.
Palmer’s – With a gorgeous patio and lovely ambiance, Palmer’s is one of San Marcos’ most beloved dining spots. Enjoy a date night under the stars or curl up around the adorable bar with your girlfriends to swap stories and wine flights.
Elevate Bar and Table – Craft cocktails, small plates and a fancy patio setting make this the perfect place to dress to impress. Throw on that little black dress and some red lipstick, and savor a romantic evening in this swanky, second-story cocktail bar.
Tantra Coffeehouse – Tantra is like a little piece of Austin right in the heart of San Marcos. Enjoy outdoor music, local art and specialty coffee at this local hot spot. It’s the ideal setting for a group date with communal tables and a biergarten.
Zelicks – Known as “The Best Little Ice House in Texas”, Zelicks provides a lovely atmosphere for catching up with girlfriends or enjoying a dog-friendly outing. Washers, horseshoes and cornhole surround the bar and a lush green space adorns the back patio.
Cheatham Street Warehouse – Throw on your cowboy boots and go two-stepping with your favorite dance partner at this Texas landmark. The dance floor has seen Texas Country music legends and honky-tonk heroes since first opening in 1974. Check out the full line-up and make it a date for two.
