Spring Events In San Marcos
San Marcos is a quaint town that retains its southern charm. Even though it’s not as big as Austin or San Antonio, the Hill Country city boasts plenty to do. As spring sets in every year, San Marcos is especially beautiful. Wildflowers bloom, everything turns green and residents flock to these events that ring in the warm weather.
Live on the Lawn
Free spring concerts at San Marcos Plaza Park are a hit on Thursday nights every spring. Bring your beach chairs and a blanket to enjoy the live music. Buy food and beverages at the concession stand. Activities start at 6:30 p.m. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.

Farmer Fred’s Garden Spring Carnival
This family-friendly event is a favorite among those who live in San Marcos. It’s a wonderful occasion for visitors to experience the welcoming atmosphere in the area too.
The annual carnival is sponsored by the San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department and will take place on March 29, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m. Located in San Marcos Plaza Park, the event will feature games, contests, live music and egg hunts. It’s free to attend, and concessions can be purchased from a variety of local vendors.

Arts Squared Arts Market
Beginning in March, you can head to this open-air market to check out the local art scene in San Marcos. It happens on the second Saturday of every month until December and features arts and handmade items, live music, free yoga and kids’ activities. Stop by the farmer’s market next door to stock up on produce for the week.
