Be like the LeGares – start living the Kissing Tree dream right after signing your contract
Contract to purchase your new home at Kissing Tree and start enjoying golf, pickleball, live music and other activities immediately, whether your closing is one month or several months away.
Whether you get the keys to your new Kissing Tree home in a few weeks or several months, you can start enjoying the legendary KT lifestyle right after signing your contract.
Immediate access to golf, pickleball, live music and other KT activities and amenities is perk that future residents are delighted to discover, as were Anne and Marc LeGare in 2021.
Their old home in College Station sold much quicker than expected, and their new home was being built from scratch, but they were prepared. They had recently purchased a 42-foot fifth wheel, so they packed up and moved into an RV park near Kissing Tree.
Due to supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it took over a year for their new home to be ready, and they found plenty of ways to enjoy the wait.

No “new kid at school” vibe
By the time they moved in, the LeGares had already built a growing group of friends in Kissing Tree and were well-established within the community’s many groups and clubs. Thanks to all the activities, they didn’t mind living in the small quarters of their RV at all.
“We hit the ground running almost from day one,” Anne says. “Everyone’s in the same boat when you’re new, wondering if you’ll find your people and get invitations. But you quickly learn this is a community that embraces you. You just have to get out there and try some of the clubs and activities that interest you. There will be plenty to do, and plenty of friendships ahead!”
The LeGare’s first activity at Kissing Tree was a field trip to the Painted Churches in Central Texas.
“Getting on the bus, we felt like the new kids at school, with our name tags giving us away,” Anne recalls. “But soon we realized even established residents were wearing name tags. It was their way of making newcomers like us feel very welcome.”
Enduring early friendships
While waiting for their new home to be finished, the LeGares took more Kissing Tree-sponsored field trips, including a tubing expedition on the Guadalupe River. They joined the Kissing Tree RV Club on a trip down to Port Aransas, enjoyed live music at The Mix, and got active in pickleball, Mahjong, the Art Studio and other activities.
A few years later, the LeGares have changed some of the clubs and activities they’re involved in, but their early friendships at Kissing Tree have endured.
“Our house was one of the first few built in Balmorhea, which starts at the end of the Fannin neighborhood. Many of us from both neighborhoods got to know each other in the early days, and we still have an active text group called the Balfannies,” Anne laughs.

How it works
When you contract to purchase your new home in Kissing Tree, your new home sales consultant with Brookfield Residential or David Weekley Homes forwards it to the Kissing Tree Lifestyle team. The team will soon send you a “Welcome” email with all of the info needed to start enjoying the amenities and activities.
You’ll also get official Kissing Tree name tags, so you can start getting to know your new neighbors.
It’s that simple. Whether you select a quick move-in home and close within a month, or you build from the ground up and it takes anywhere from six to eight months, you can feel the warm embrace of Kissing Tree right away.
Oh, and about the LeGares’ fifth wheel.
“We sold it after we moved into Kissing Tree. We felt like we were living in a resort, so we didn’t need to visit one anymore,” Anne says.
